The BCCI has announced a substantial cash reward of INR 58 crore for the Indian squad that triumphed in the Champions Trophy. Team India secured a thrilling victory over New Zealand, clinching the title by four wickets in the final showdown held in Dubai on March 9.

Celebrating this achievement, BCCI president Roger Binny acknowledged the team’s remarkable consistency on the international stage. “Winning consecutive ICC titles is an extraordinary feat, and this financial reward serves as recognition of Team India’s unwavering commitment and exceptional performances at the global level. The prize money is also a tribute to the collective efforts behind the scenes that contribute to the team’s success. This marks our second ICC trophy win in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph, which is a testament to the well-established and thriving cricketing structure in our country,” he stated.

Prior to this, the ICC had already announced a prize purse of USD 2.24 million for the Champions Trophy winners, along with an additional $34,000 for each match victory throughout the tournament, excluding the semi-finals and final. The overall prize fund for the event stood at $6.9 million, reflecting a significant 53% increase from the 2017 edition. The runners-up, New Zealand, secured a cash prize of $1.12 million, while the two losing semi-finalists, South Africa and Australia, each received $560,000. Furthermore, all eight participating teams were guaranteed a base amount of $125,000 simply for competing in the tournament.

India’s dominance in ICC tournaments has been nothing short of extraordinary, establishing them as one of the most formidable sides in men’s cricket history. Across the last three ICC men’s limited-overs tournaments, they have registered an astonishing 23 wins in 24 completed matches. Their only defeat came in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia, which ended an incredible ten-match winning streak in that competition. Since then, India has maintained an unblemished record, securing unbeaten campaigns in both the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy, further cementing their status as a powerhouse in international cricket.
