A new kind of sticker pack is being released by WhatsApp, which means that its stickers will get some pleasant upgrades. This most recent version adds to the already extensive feature set that WhatsApp has been steadily adding new capabilities and improving existing ones.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is gradually adding Lottie support for stickers along with a new sticker collection. The “I’m Just a Girl” pack, the first of its kind to be created using the Lottie framework, is currently offered at the official Sticker Store.
The sticker pack, created by BUCK, is available for download and provides developers with inspiration on how to optimise the sticker framework.
Lottie essentially lets developers create stickers using vector-based animations. This essentially implies that you’ll receive more visually appealing stickers with more vibrant colours and better animations. The WebP-based stickers that WhatsApp now offers are excellent, but the animations of vector-based stickers are much better.
It appears that developers do not now have the possibility to start creating Lottie stickers with third-party apps. However, that might be something to come.
The first version of WhatsApp to allude to Meta’s intention to release Lottie stickers was version 2.24.5.10. When more sticker packs are created in the near future, the new kind of sticker will make the experience of sending WhatsApp stickers even more enjoyable.
