The much awaited group chat events feature from WhatsApp has started to roll out, going beyond its original community-focused release from last month.
According to GSM Arena, this feature—which was first shown as an addition to Communities—is now arriving in ordinary group chats on the WhatsApp platform.
The functionality has been detected in WhatsApp for Android’s beta version 2.24.14.9, according to reports gathered by GSM Arena. This indicates that the feature is now available to a wider audience.
With the latest version, users can now easily create and manage events within their chat groups by utilising the new “Event” icon, which is available through the paperclip menu.
According to GSM Arena, once an event is made, everyone in the group can see and reply to the invitation, but only the event creator can change the event’s specifics.
Notably, WhatsApp makes sure that end-to-end encryption safeguards all group activities, protecting user security and privacy.
Although the exact date of the Events feature’s worldwide distribution across all group chats has not yet been announced by WhatsApp, those who are keen to test it out can sign up for the beta programme to gain early access.
More capabilities have been added to WhatsApp’s platform.
Following the latest improvements, users may now enjoy better business tools and bigger group video conversations.
The largest modification is the rise in the maximum number of participants for group video calls.
Calls can now include up to 32 participants, which makes it easier for larger groups to communicate digitally. Previously, calls could only have eight users.
Desktop and mobile users are also affected by this update.
Along with the upgrades to video calls, WhatsApp is also releasing new features driven by Meta AI. The purpose of these AI technologies is to improve user experience for both enterprises and people.
The increased accessibility of AI-powered chat features is one such aspect. These functionalities were previously in limited testing but are now accessible in twelve countries.
Users can interact with AI chatbots and even design their own AI stickers.
WhatsApp businesses are benefiting from the launch of Meta Verified as well.
With the help of this programme, firms should be able to establish credibility and gain the trust of their clientele.
