WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has updated its Channels function. In order to facilitate the simultaneous sharing of text, images, videos, and stickers with numerous users, WhatsApp introduced Channels last year. In January, voice messages and polls were introduced.

The most recent version of Channels now offers category-based advanced search. In order to choose channels to follow, users can now browse seven categories: People, Organisations, Lifestyle, Sports, Entertainment, Businesses, and News & Information. In the upcoming days, this update will be accessible to all users worldwide as it is being rolled out. Furthermore, WhatsApp has raised a Channel’s maximum administrator count to 16.

To examine all categories and pertinent channels in the directory, select “Explore” under the “Updates” tab.

Recently, WhatsApp revealed new capabilities to improve and customise the sticker experience on its app. The instant messaging service is rolling out more features, including a Custom Sticker Maker and searchable GIPHY stickers. Users of WhatsApp may now make their own stickers or access GIPHY stickers straight within the app.

WhatsApp is developing tools to increase accessibility to recent status changes and exposure. This feature was found in WhatsApp beta version 2.24.19.4 for Android, which is accessible through the Google Play Store, according to the update tracker WABetainfo. Users can access status updates straight from the viewer list thanks to this feature.

It has been explained that WhatsApp intends to launch a new feature aimed at improving user privacy. Passkey authentication for logins, chat backup encryption, and account verification may be included in the next version. Passkeys will replace standard passwords with biometric information, such as fingerprints and facial recognition.
