The present Doodle celebrates what is broadly loved as the Netherlands’ most well known occasion, King’s Day. Known as Koningsdag in Dutch, today respects the birthday of the first Dutch ruler in quite a while, His Royal Highness Willem-Alexander.

Delineated in the Doodle craftsmanship, the red, white, and blue tricolor Dutch banner was confirmed in its present structure by a regal declaration in 1937. With orange as the official shade of the day, the banner is frequently observed with a little orange stripe, or a wimpel, floating on the top for King’s Day.

Fijne Koningsdag! (Cheerful King’s Day!)
