On the fifth day of the Hebrew month of Iyar, Israeli people group overall commend their Independence Day, referred to locally as Yom Ha’atzmaut. The present Doodle pays tribute to this yearly occasion in acknowledgment of the day in 1948 when the State of Israel proclaimed its autonomy.

Portrayed in the Doodle work of art, the banner of Israel highlights two blue stripes running on a level plane over the white foundation with the Star of David at its inside. Authoritatively embraced in 1948, a similar year as freedom, the banner will be waved gladly any place Israeli’s call home.
