The present Doodle commends the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova. On this day in 1991 in the capital city of Chisinau, the Eastern European republic was proclaimed a sovereign country after more than fifty years of Soviet standard.
Portrayed in the Doodle fine art is the blue, yellow, and red tricolor banner of Moldova. The banner was formally received in 1990, however the causes of its plans stretch back hundreds of years to the medieval occasions.
The crest found at the banner’s middle highlights a bird holding a brilliant staff in one hook and in the other an olive branch which speaks to harmony. A shield that sits on the hawk’s bosom portrays the top of an auroch, an ancient wild bull that used to meander the European scene and today fills in as Moldova’s public image.
Cheerful Independence Day, Moldova!
