The Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 have been announced by Microsoft with Intel processors

Microsoft has officially confirmed the launch of Intel-powered variants of its Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7, set to be available from February 18. While these devices are part of the Copilot Plus PC lineup, unlike their Qualcomm Snapdragon X-powered counterparts, they will be equipped with Intel’s Lunar Lake processors.
Much like last year’s Intel-only Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, these new models are primarily targeted at business users. Customers will now have the option to choose between Intel or Qualcomm processors within identical Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 designs.
The Intel-powered Surface Laptop 7 for business starts at $1,499.99-$500 more than its Qualcomm variant. It will be available in two screen sizes: a 13.8-inch model and a larger 15-inch version. Configurations include Intel Core Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 processors, up to 32GB RAM, and storage options reaching up to 1TB. Microsoft estimates battery life at up to 14 hours for the 15-inch model and up to 12 hours for the 13.8-inch version, just an hour short of the Qualcomm-powered Surface Laptop 7’s figures.
In terms of connectivity, the Intel version retains most of the port selection, with a slight upgrade from USB-A 3.1 to USB-A 3.2. Other features include two USB-C 4 / Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Surface Connect charging port, and a headphone jack. Additionally, Microsoft is using the same PixelSense display found in the Qualcomm variant. An optional smart card reader will also be available in certain markets, similar to the Surface Laptop 6. Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to introduce a 5G version of the Surface Laptop 7 later this year, with more details to be shared in the coming months.
For businesses considering the Intel-powered Surface Pro 11, pricing starts at $1,499.99, compared to $999.99 for the Qualcomm model. The device offers the same display options as its counterpart, with a choice between a 13-inch LCD or OLED panel. Available configurations include Core Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 processors, up to 32GB of RAM, and storage capacities up to 1TB. The port selection remains unchanged, featuring two USB-C 4 / Thunderbolt 4 ports and a Surface Connect charging port. Unlike the Surface Laptop 7, the Surface Pro 11 does not include a headphone jack, requiring users to rely on Bluetooth or USB-C headphones. Additionally, it incorporates an NFC reader to support security keys such as the YubiKey 5C NFC.
With Windows 10 support ending on October 14, Microsoft is positioning these new Copilot Plus PCs as ideal upgrades for businesses transitioning to Windows 11. Equipped with NPUs capable of running Copilot Plus features, these devices will support advanced Windows AI functionalities, including Recall and Microsoft’s AI-powered Windows Search.
Alongside the new Surface devices, Microsoft is also launching a USB 4 docking station, available for $199.99. Designed for Surface devices with USB-C ports, the dock supports two 4K displays at 60Hz, offers 65W passthrough charging, and enables data transfers at speeds of up to 40Gb/s. It features front-facing USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 and USB-C 4 Gen 3 ports, with additional connectivity options at the rear, including another USB-C 4 Gen 3 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, an ethernet port, and a USB-C connector for its 100W power supply.
Microsoft has opened business preorders for the Intel-powered Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7, with official shipping set to begin on February 18.
