The Xiaomi 15 series is set to debut as one of the first lineups powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Along with these new flagship smartphones, Xiaomi will also reveal its refreshed tablet series, the Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup, at a much-anticipated launch event on October 29 in China. The Xiaomi 15 smartphones, already official with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, will be the stars of the event, while the Pad 7 series tablets bring strong mid-range specs, though they won’t rival the high-end performance of the flagship phones.

Among the new tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is confirmed to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, while the standard Pad 7 model is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip. Both chips are well-suited for upper mid-range devices, making these tablets ideal for daily multitasking but not necessarily built for the most intensive applications or gaming demands.

On a positive note, Xiaomi claims the Pad 7 series will offer a premium display tailored for light office work and productivity. The 11.2-inch screen on the Pad 7 models sports a 3:2 aspect ratio, which Xiaomi has optimized for improved efficiency, promising a more user-friendly experience. This display uses an LCD panel with a resolution of 3200×2136 pixels, providing a 144 Hz refresh rate and an impressive 345 PPI, ensuring clarity and fluid visuals. Reports suggest that the Pad 7 Pro will come equipped with full DC dimming, a 50 MP main camera, and 67W fast charging, although these details await official confirmation.

Both tablets are set to run Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15. This updated OS brings a redesigned UI with added AI features aimed at enhancing the tablet experience, offering smoother transitions and improved multitasking options. While pricing for the Pad 7 series has yet to be announced, it is anticipated that these tablets will make a global debut shortly after their release in China.
