Elon Musk, the wealthiest individual on the planet, is on a trajectory to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, according to a report by Informa Connect Academy, an organization that tracks global wealth. The report highlights Musk’s exceptional financial growth, driven by his leadership of Tesla, SpaceX, and social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Musk’s fortune has been expanding at an average rate of 110% per year, positioning him to potentially reach this unprecedented financial milestone within the next few years.

Currently, Musk sits at the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with an impressive net worth of $237 billion. The report goes on to suggest that Indian businessman Gautam Adani, the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, could follow closely behind Musk. Adani’s wealth has grown at an even higher annual rate of 123%, and if this trend continues, he could become the second person to achieve trillionaire status by 2028.

Until now, only eight corporations have surpassed the trillion-dollar market capitalization mark. These include tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta, alongside Saudi Aramco and Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.

A surprising contender for future trillionaire status is Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, a leader in the chip and semiconductor industry. Huang, currently ranked 18th on the global rich list, boasts a net worth exceeding $90 billion and is considered one of the top candidates to join the trillionaire club in the coming years.

The report also predicts that Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is on track to become a trillionaire, though it may take him another six years, with projections suggesting that he could reach this financial level by 2030.

In addition to his business ventures, Musk recently made headlines by expressing his support for former U.S. next presidential election will include President Donald Trump. This move has sparked interest in how the world’s richest man’s endorsement may influence the political landscape, as he has now aligned himself with the Republican Party.
