Xiaomi plans to enhance the primary camera on its upcoming flagship smartphone model. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumoured to sport a sensor that is even larger than the 14 Ultra’s 1-inch model.

With the launch of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra last year, Xiaomi introduced type 1-inch camera sensors to the mass market. Although there were no notable improvements in the main camera sensor of the 14 Ultra, recent data suggests that the 15 Ultra will be making progress in this area.

Xiaomi is planning to outfit the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with a primary camera that is larger than the 1-inch sensors seen on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra (available for purchase on Amazon), as disclosed by Kartikey Singh. If this rumour is accurate, the 15 Ultra will launch with the biggest smartphone camera sensor to date.

Digital Chat Station reports that Xiaomi is also going to enhance the zoom configuration of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, in addition to the main camera. The phone is rumoured to have four cameras total: two telephoto lenses, an ultra-wide lens, and the primary camera. It is also said that the periscope lens has been improved to operate better in the 10x to 30x magnification range.
