The Michigan Tech women’s tennis program and Head Coach Kevin Kalinec are pleased to report to the 2019-20 schedule. The Huskies completed the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 10-7 and wrapped up the year with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record of 7-2 throughout the fall portion of the schedule.
Tech will open the year the first end of the week in September in Southfield, Michigan at Lawrence Tech before meeting Lake Superior State on the road September 14 in the GLIAC opener. The Huskies will at that point contend in the ITA Regionals September 20-22 preceding plunging again into conference competition September 27 at Wayne State.
Tech will have Northwood October 5 for the first home match of the year in the Gates Tennis Center at 10 a.m. followed by a showdown at home against Saginaw Valley State starting at 10 a.m. the next day. The Huskies will entertain Purdue Northwest (Oct. 19) and Davenport (Oct. 20) for their other two home challenges of the season. Tech’s other GLIAC street matches incorporate fights at Ashland (Oct. 28), Ferris State (Oct. 12), and Grand Valley State (Oct. 13).
The GLIAC Championships are slated for October 25-27 in Midland, Michigan, which signals the finish of the fall portion of the 2019-20 campaign. The Huskies resume play in February at Tiffin on the 22nd and Hillsdale on the 23rd. Tech heads south for the annual Spring Tennis Fest March 6-14 in Hilton Head, South Carolina before taking on NCAA Division I Wisconsin-Green Bay April 11 to finish off the regular season.
