Samsung Co-CEO Han Jong-Hee Dies at Age 63

Samsung Electronics co-chief executive Han Jong-Hee, who had worked for the South Korean consumer electronics behemoth for almost 40 years, passed away on Tuesday.

After overseeing Samsung’s consumer electronics division since 2021, Mr. Han added the digital appliance division to his mandate a year later. Additionally, he has been on the board. They formerly served as the group leader for the visual displays used in Samsung’s extensive range of electronic gadgets.
Han, who was born in 1962, has been in charge of Samsung’s mobile devices and consumer electronics divisions since 2022, the firm explained. In 2022, Samsung Electronics appointed him as its CEO and vice chairman. Last week, Jun Young-Hyun, Han’s co-CEO, was named to the role.
Inha University in Incheon, South Korea, is where Mr. Han earned his degree in electrical engineering. At a critical juncture in Samsung’s history, he joined the business in 1988, just after Lee Byung-chull, its founder, passed away.
