United States singer-songwriter Richard Marx has announced an impending Australian tour, 30 years after his first of numerous trips to the nation. It will be Marx’s first domestic tour since December 2018 and is scheduled for February and March 2023.
Marx will begin his first-ever tour with performances in New Zealand before heading across the Tasman for performances in Brisbane, Tweed Heads, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Penrith, and Perth. Marx stated in a statement, “I couldn’t be more pleased to return to my home away from home, Australia, to play for the people once more.
Right Here Waiting, a song by Richard Marx
Marx began his musical career as a teenager, and his self-titled debut album marked his commercial success in 1987. Since then, he has sold over 30 million albums and given the world such classic classics as “Right Here Waiting,” “Hazard,” “Should’ve Known Better,” and “Endless Summer Nights.”
Marx’s 13th studio album, Songwriter, was just released, and with it came news of his most recent Australian tour. The album’s 20 songs are expertly organised into several genres, with each block of five songs demonstrating his mastery of pop, rock, country, and balladry.
