The newest smartwatch from the Xiaomi sub-brand, the Redmi Watch 5, was introduced in China. A 2.07-inch AMOLED display with an always-on mode is a feature of the new wearable. Wearers can make and receive voice calls using the watch’s eSIM version. The Redmi Watch 5 has 5ATM water resistance and allows for personalised watch faces. It supports more than 150 sports modes and offers heart rate monitoring.

The Redmi Watch 5 comes in Elegant Black and Moon Silver hues, and it costs CNY 599, or around Rs. 6,600. The eSIM variant comes in Titanium colour and costs CNY 799, or around Rs. 9,000. At the moment, both versions can be bought in China.

A 2.07-inch AMOLED 2.5D screen with a resolution of 432×514 pixels, a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits, and a refresh rate of 60 Hz is included with the Redmi Watch 5. It is explained that the display has a pixel density of 324 ppi. It has a metal dial and an aluminium frame. Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 interface powers it.

Users can exchange messages and conduct phone calls on compatible platforms with Xiaomi’s eSIM version of the Redmi Watch 5. Its water resistance is 5ATM. More than 150 sports modes, including as walking, running, jumping, and skating, are supported by the wearable. For activity tracking, it has an integrated GNSS location sensor.

More than 200 watch faces are available for the Redmi Watch 5. A linear motor with more than 20 vibration modes is included. Third-party apps are supported by the wearable. It comes with an AFE chip that has Xiaomi’s own algorithm for heart rate and sleep tracking. It features breathing and SpO2 tracking. The smartwatch supports NFC and is compatible with Bluetooth 5.3.

With typical use, the 550mAh battery inside the Redmi Watch 5 is supposed to last up to 24 days. With Always-On Display mode, Xiaomi promises a 12-day battery life. Both iOS 12.0 and later and Android 8.0 and later handsets can use the new wearable.
