At a very young age, I realized how attracted to sports I was. My uncle played for the South African national rugby team, commonly known as the Springboks. Rugby is my family’s number one sport.
I started playing around the age of 6. I quickly discovered how passionate I was about the sport. I continued playing rugby throughout all of high school. In my senior year of high school, I was invited to play in the Las Vegas Invitational Rugby Tournament.
While I was in Las Vegas, I got my first offer to play Division 1 rugby. I have traveled to many places to play rugby like Oklahoma, Las Vegas, South Africa, and many different parts of Texas.
I have also played with Canada’s high school team. Over time I have learned how culturally diverse rugby really is. This sport contributes to forming lifelong bonds and essentially contributes to people coming together as a family.
