The Oppo A3, the newest model in Oppo’s A-series of smartphones, has made its official debut and is now retailing in Nepal.

The Oppo A3, a brand-new midrange entry-level smartphone from Oppo’s A-series, has an IPS LCD display, a 50MP primary camera, a 5100mAh battery, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 engine.

Oppo A3 Overview

Design

The Oppo A3 sports the typical boxy, flat-sided appearance that is seen on many phones these days. With its streamlined rectangular form, it has a recognisable iPhone feel. Even the style of the camera island is reminiscent of the iPhone 12.

The Oppo A3 is protected by an IP54 dust and water resistance. Its MIL-STD 810H classification, which indicates that it is durable and can withstand drops and scratches rather well, is the true feature, though.

Please remember that these rankings are derived from laboratory experiments and may not necessarily translate to real-world situations. You can usually extend the life of your phone by treating it like any other equipment.

Display

The Oppo A3’s display is a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with 8 bits. The pixel density of the hole punch screen is 264 ppi, with a resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels.

With a maximum brightness of 1000 nits in direct sunlight, the display is quite bright. It also boasts a seamless user experience thanks to a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 180 Hz maximum touch sampling rate.

Along with carrying over the entire military standard protection motif, the screen also includes double-reinforced China Southern and Panda Glass for increased durability. In addition, the screen is compatible with Oppo’s Splash Touch, which maintains the accuracy of the screen’s touch capabilities in damp environments.

Hardware

An 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 CPU with 4x 2.1 GHz Cortex-A73 and 4x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 cores powers the smartphone. In charge of graphics processing is an Adreno 610 coprocessor.

Although it has a similar name to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which is manufactured using a 4nm production method, the 6s 4G Gen 1 chip is really a much older Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor that has been rebranded and repurposed with overclocked cores.

Regarding memory, consumers in Nepal will only be able to purchase the 128GB 6GB RAM and the 256GB 8GB RAM models. Expandable microSD cards are supported by the phone.

In terms of supplementary features, the phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a speaker with a 300% volume boost option, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

Cameras

Let’s talk about the cameras on the A3 smartphone. Its primary 50MP camera is complemented by an additional “flicker sensor” that senses light levels in the area to automatically change ISO and shutter speed.

This indicates that there is just one 5MP camera on the front and one real camera on the back of the phone. The camera can record videos from both cameras at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Battery and OS

The Oppo A3 is equipped with a 5100mAh battery that allows for 45W rapid charging. According to Oppo’s claims, the battery “Goes from flat to 50% in just 30 minutes” and is charged via a USB-C charger.

In addition to being strong, the 5100mAh battery would hold 80% of its charging capacity after 4 years of regular use, according to Oppo’s claims.

The phone’s software is pre-installed with Android 14 and has a Colour OS 14.0 overlay on top. However, the length of time the corporation will offer software support has not been made public.
