Next-Gen Nissan Leaf Revealed: Design, Features & What’s New

Nissan unveiled the most recent iteration of the Leaf, which has been transformed into a sporty crossover. The new design departs from its hatchback origins and has a more aerodynamic profile with a prominent rear haunch, high shoulder line, and sculpted bonnet.
Wheels and Body Design
It has a forceful bumper with a central air vent, a closed grille, and slender, boomerang-shaped LED headlights with integrated DRLs up front. The Leaf is built on the same CMF-EV platform as the Ariya and has a sleek 19-inch wheel design.
Exterior Design
A rough touch is added by the black cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors, and the charging outlet is conveniently located on the front fender. Its C-pillar-mounted rear handles and flush front door handles add to its sleek, contemporary appearance.
As the brand’s first electric vehicle with an integrated NACS charging outlet, the new Nissan Leaf for North America will provide easy access to Tesla Superchargers.
The Powertrain
The updated model will also come with a small 3-in-1 EV drivetrain that is intended to increase efficiency and optimize inside space. It is anticipated that these improvements will increase the Leaf’s driving range over its predecessor. Nissan intends to release additional information about the redesigned Leaf later this year, while important parameters have not yet been disclosed.
Launch Date
Nissan recently gave a preview of two new vehicles in Yokohama as part of its plan to increase the number of models in its lineup in India. A compact MPV is scheduled to come by the end of this year, and a compact SUV is anticipated to debut by the fiscal year 2026. Nissan’s dedication to the Indian market is further demonstrated by the fact that both cars will be produced at its Chennai plant.
Although Nissan has not yet disclosed the MPV’s technical details, it is anticipated that it would share a platform with the Renault Triber. The MPV might have a 1-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 71 horsepower and 96 Nm of torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, if it uses the same powertrain configuration.
