The new Kia Sonet after its facelift

A 360° camera and blind view monitor in the cluster significantly increase safety. Additionally, 10 autonomous functions have been added to ADAS Level 1. With ADAS, the Sonet facelift is the second sub-4-meter SUV.

With the Hyundai Venue, ADAS was unveiled earlier this year in September. On the Nexon makeover, ADAS was also anticipated. However, that hasn’t happened. There’s a chance that the next Mahindra XUV300 will have ADAS.

The ADAS system onboard the facelifted Kia Sonet comprises high beam assistance, driver attention warning, leading vehicle departure alert, lane keep assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, and front collision warning and avoidance assistance.

In addition to electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist control, a rear view camera with guidelines, and a tire pressure monitoring system, the standard safety kit also contains front, side, and curtain airbags.

The list of features includes an electric sunroof, an seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system, an four-way power adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, an LCD instrument dashboard, and Alexa voice commands. The Tech Line comes with three different interior colors and seat patterns, while the GT Line and X Line have one each.

The headlights, DRLs, and bumper have all changed as part of the Sonet facelift exterior redesign. Apart from the new alloy wheel design, the side profile is essentially the same. The Kia Sonet makeover in the back includes new bumper, full-width LED lighting, and redesigned tail lamps.

There is also a new Pewter Olive color option available. The Sonet makeover offers two dual-tone and eight monotone color variations in total. Strong visual appeal and a sportier street presence are ensured by the changes.

Specifications and performance of the Sonet facelift

With the Sonet redesign, the trims—HTX, HTX+, GTX+, X-Line, HTE, HTK, and HTK+—remain the same. The engine selections remain the same from before. 115 Nm of peak torque and 82 bhp of maximum power are produced by the 1.2-liter NA petrol engine. It is connected to a manual 5-speed gearbox. The 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 172 Nm and 118 horsepower. There are two transmission options: 6iMT and 7DCT.

The 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 250 Nm and 114 horsepower. The 6-speed manual gearbox is back, and the earlier 6iMT and 6AT transmission options are still available for the Sonet facelift. It is anticipated that this gearbox will be compatible with both Seltos and Carens.

The traction modes of the Sonet revamp are Wet, Mud, and Sand. There are three drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Sports. Only the automated versions come with these features. Paddle shifters are also included for those who select the automated version. The official price announcement will happen during the launch of the new Sonet next month.
