The eight-part series focuses on the sacrifices these secret agents make for the country without ever receiving praise or recognition.
“In India, we haven’t dabbled much in the genre of ‘Historical Fiction,'” said directors Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai, according to a news source. ‘Mukhbir,’ inspired by true events and set against the backdrop of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, tells the fictionalised story of an Indian spy whose information helped India win the war. ‘Mukhbir’ is a human drama with the limbs of a spy thriller. While the plot will keep the audience glued to their screens, the inherent quandary of a man torn between duty and heart will deeply move them. We hope that ‘Mukhbir’ has a lasting impression on viewers.”
Prakash Raj, Harsh Chhaya, Barkha Sengupta, Satyadeep Mishra, Karan Oberoi, and Adil Hussain play pivotal roles in Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy, alongside debutants Zain Khan Durrani and Zoya Afroz. On November 11, 2022, the web series will premiere exclusively on ZEE5.
Plot
Mukhbir is based on true events and is set against the backdrop of the 1965 Indo-Pak war. It’s an engrossing story about an Indian spy whose information helped India win the war. The spy assisted the country in repelling several powerful enemy attacks.
