In 2024, Mercedes-Benz launched more than six important products in India, making it a very exciting year. Additionally, 2025 will be a hectic year for the German brand.
On the same day, Mercedes-Benz will also introduce a five-seater EQS electric SUV. Aside from the Maybach model, this is the second EQS SUV model to arrive in India. It is officially known as the EQS 450. A seven-seat version of the existing EQS 580 4Matic SUV is available.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 450: Powertrain
The same 122 kWh battery pack that powers its seven-seater brother will power the new EQS 450 SUV. At the moment, it is the passenger EV in India with the greatest claimed cell capacity. A twin-motor configuration with 538 horsepower and 858 Nm of peak torque will be powered by this battery. A 200kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 31 minutes.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 450: Exterior & Interiors
With its blanked-off grille and LED headlamps joined by a light bar, the base EQS SUV will continue to have its recognisable appearance. Additionally, it maintains the EQS 580’s aerodynamic shape, but the 21-inch alloy wheels have a fresh look.
The most noticeable change within the interior will be the new seating arrangement, which will provide the people in the backseat extra legroom and kneeroom and make the experience more pleasant. Additionally, a larger boot is anticipated, indicating improved practicality.
Features like a 56-inch Hyperscreen setup with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and front passenger screen and a 17.7-inch central touchscreen infotainment, a 5-speaker Burmester audio system, 360-degree camera, 5-zone automatic climate control, twin 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens, and more are probably going to stay the same as those of the EQS 580. Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags, and other safety measures will be included.
Mercedes-Benz EQS 450: Expected price
The EQS 450 will be locally assembled in India using CKD kits, just like its seven-seat sister. The ex-showroom pricing of the latest EQS 580 is Rs 1.41 crore. Anticipate the next model to be marginally less expensive than the current trim.
