Mercedes-Benz CLA

Mercedes-Benz revealed the 2025 CLA, which now offers electric and hybrid drivetrain choices. Modern safety and digital technologies are combined with efficiency and performance in the CLA, Mercedes’ new entry-level sedan, which heralds in a new car family.

Design

Lithium-ion batteries with an 85kWh useful energy content are included in the models. A two-speed gearbox on the main drive at the rear axle is another element of the CLA. Strong acceleration from the outset, a large towing capacity, and alleged good efficiency in city traffic are all made possible by the first gear. Power delivery at high speeds, particularly on highways, is the purpose of the second gear.

Features and the Interior

With the newest superscreen configuration that includes a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, and a 14-inch passenger entertainment screen, the CLA’s interior appears more contemporary and high-end. The most recent version of the MB.OS operating system powers the infotainment, which also has ChatGPT and other AI capabilities for a more intelligent and futuristic experience.

Price And Rivals

In the future, the new CLA might be introduced in India. The CLA series is anticipated to begin at approximately Rs 45 lakh. When it debuts, the CLA will be a rival to the BMW 2 Series and a substitute for the similarly priced Audi A4. Although it will cost more than the BYD Seal, the EV version will compete with the Kia EV6 and serve as a sedan substitute for the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Electric and Hybrid Powertrain

There will be hybrid and fully electric engine options for the CLA. The CLA 250+ has a WLTP range of up to 792 km, while the all-electric variants have an 85 kWh battery.

With a 260 kW powertrain, the CLA 350 4MATIC is built to perform better. At lower speeds, a two-speed transmission at the rear axle maximises acceleration, while at highway speeds, it increases efficiency.

Better charging capabilities have also been made possible by the 800-volt system, which can quickly charge 325 km in 10 minutes. By doing this, long-distance travel downtime is decreased.

Mercedes-Benz will later this year launch cars with a 48-volt system for individuals who prefer hybrid choices. For short distances, these hybrids will include an electric-only driving mode. Regenerative braking will also be available to increase overall efficiency.
