The first electric motorcycle from Royal Enfield is currently under development and is expected to debut in FY2026. Managing Director of Royal Enfield Siddhartha Lal confirmed this schedule recently during a media event conducted in conjunction with the Q1 FY2024 earnings call, according to HT Auto.
For the planned electric product, the business has already set up the necessary backend system.
During the earnings call for the previous quarter, Royal Enfield stated that it was in favor of the creation of an electric motorcycle. To speed up its electric vehicle (EV) activities, the business also partnered with Stark Future, a Spanish manufacturer of electric motorcycles. Royal Enfield is already constructing the framework for its upcoming all-electric model.
According to the report, Siddhartha Lal stated, “We are about two years out before the product hits the market,” when asked about the launch timeframe for the electric motorcycle. We are putting in a ton of effort. We are driving our test vehicles. We still have time, and we don’t want to release anything on the market that isn’t fully developed. We will completely destabilize things. It’s not about adding anything, competing with someone directly, or doing better than them. Nothing comparable. We are aiming toward a whole different paradigm with EV.
Royal Enfield is preparing to launch the most recent version of the Bullet 350 in the Indian market on August 30, according to HT Auto. The next model has been tested numerous times on public roads. The new-generation Bullet, which takes design cues from the J-platform used by the Classic 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350, promises to give the classic motorcycle exciting new features and enhancements.
The next Bullet 350 will be powered by a well-known 349 cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled, long-stroke engine, according to the media report. Approximately 19.9 horsepower and 27 Nm of torque are anticipated from this dependable motor. A 5-speed gearbox will be used on the motorcycle to transmit power to the wheels.
