Birthing An Idea
Studies show that around 80% of women experience period pain at some stage in their lifetime. Also, 10% of these women experience pain severe enough to disrupt their life – Stephanie was among this group.
In a recent interview, Stephanie shared that she suffered from severe menstrual cramps. Doctors told her that it was all a natural process and would subside after giving birth; this didn’t prove to be the case as her symptoms became more unbearable.
Soon after giving birth to her son, Stephanie began researching ways to alleviate her symptoms. She then found out that women experiencing the same problems used medicinal plants as pain relief to many of the signs ofthat come with menstruation.
Stephanie had finally found a solution to her problems and decided to share it with other women who are in the same situation she was in previously. This idea brought about the initial blueprints of the Tranquil store.
Overcoming obstacles & Burnout
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.
Stephanie explains that it is almost impossible not to burn yourself out these days, and she has experienced burnout a few times. In the world we live in today, individuals have learned to embrace the “hustle mentality” without giving a thought about their health, both physical and mental.
So far, Stephanie has effectively treated burnout by living a balanced life.
“There has to be balanced and shared responsibilities when it comes to balancing being a wife, mom, and entrepreneur.” Stephanie shares, “When I find myself getting stressed out, I close the laptop, put down the phone, and have some alone time and family time.”
From this, we can deduct that Stephanie’s burnout formula is to relax, renew and restore.
Asides from burnout, Stephanie has faced other obstacles in her mompreneur journey. The most significant barrier is competition. ManyA lot of health firms are on the rise due to the effectiveness of natural solutions in treating ailments. And this has caused Stephanie and her business partner/ Husband Alec De Layno Martin to think up new ways to stay fresh and authentic.
The journey so far hasn’t been an easy one. However, Stephanie Martin still proves that with creativity and the need to solve a problem, one can go a very long way. To keep up with Stephanie, you can follow her on her Instagram page.
