On December 9, 2021, in Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif married each other in a small but lavish ceremony after keeping their love under wraps for a few years. At the much-discussed Koffee “manifestation couch,” Katrina mentioned Vicky as the actor she was most excited to collaborate with, and the rest is history. The public hasn’t seen the couple in a movie together, but their PDA on social media and photos of them holding hands on red carpets continue to set serious couple goals.
And in the most recent episode of Koffee With Karan 8, when he appeared alongside his Lust Stories and Govinda Naam Mera co-star Kiara Advani, Vicky revealed, for the first time ever, how he proposed to Katrina ahead of their big day in Rajasthan. Vicky embarrassed and admitted that their hectic schedules prevented him from organizing a lavish proposal for his lady love when Karan Johar prodded her.
He continued by saying that the night before their wedding, in front of their friends and family, he finally succeeded in asking the question to her.
It was decidedly unscheduled. Everyone I knew had warned me that if you don’t ask the question, you’ll have to live with the knowledge of it for the rest of your life. That’s what I did the day before the wedding. The actor remarked, “It was dinner just before any of the friends and families could come.”
Vicky added that he had only flown down to Mumbai a week before to the wedding, when he had first met Katrina’s mother and siblings. Vicky, who is well-known for his dance talents, admitted to Karan that he impressed her family by using his moves. He said that by moving to Tip Tip Barsa Paani, he “broke the ice” and made them feel more comfortable with him.
Furthermore, Vicky said, “Booboo, baby, and aey!” in response to Karan’s question regarding the three ways that Katrina Kaif refers to him. Kiara and Karan both started laughing hysterically at this.
Before Vicky made her shocking announcement, Kiara also revealed how Sidharth Malhotra proposed to her while they were on vacation in Rome and Sidharth’s parents were with them. Kiara disclosed that she had a “inkling” that her Shershaah co-star would pop the question while they were traveling, but she was happily shocked when he did so at their very first stop. True to form, Sidharth was a traditional romantic who got down on one knee at a candlelit supper at a Michelin-starred restaurant while violins played in the background.
