Ather Energy is trying something new for the first time, having previously introduced items aimed at young people with stylish and futuristic electric scooters. The company is going into uncharted waters by competing with well-known scooter brands with Ather Rizta. The Ather Rizta electric scooter has recently surfaced online ahead of launch.
When it comes to providing mobility solutions in India, Ather has kept to creating an ecosystem and a group of young, tech-savvy consumers who are driven by excitement. The company is currently entering the family scooter market, a market dominated by Yamaha, TVS, Suzuki, and Honda.
In the field of electric family scooters, companies such as Honda become less relevant. However, upcoming Ather Rizta will compete with Ola S1 X+, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak. It will even compete with ICE scooters such as Jupiter and Activa. With the Ather Rizta, the firm is putting a premium on functionality after discontinuing the stylish and elegant 450 lineup of scooters.
Ather has consistently highlighted the seat size of the Rizta, which should to be one of its biggest benefits. Leaked photos carry a huge seat and validate a similar mindset. Similar to “big” huge. Ather should be able to fit a larger underseat storage thanks to this. Two full-size helmets are in doubt, along with additional ones.
Overall, the design is comparable to that of TVS iQube. This is really intriguing, especially because they are close rivals in the same market. iQube served as inspiration for several design elements, including the big grab rails side panels, front apron, slim LED tail lights, and horizontal LED headlamps.
We can make out elegant body panels with a futuristic vibe in the released images. The way the single-piece body connects to the side body panels from the apron is quite appealing to us. Additionally visible is a level floorboard, which could increase usefulness. Large ORVMs, belt drive for excellent power delivery, and front and rear disc brakes are further noteworthy components.
Expectation from Scooter:
We should anticipate a no-nonsense approach in the battery department, as is unique with Ather. The company has used a drop test and a water wading test to demonstrate the IP67 of the Ather Rizta battery. Regarding battery capacity, we could expect a 3 kWh device with a stated range of roughly 160 kilometers.
As shown by the water-wading test video, the Ather Rizta is expected to use the same 7-inch color TFT touchscreen dashboard as the 450X and 450 Apex. On April 6, 2024, at Ather Community Day, the firm will introduce Rizta. In addition, an unidentified smart device and the AtherStack 6 OTA upgrade will be released at the same event.
