China’s OPPO has unveiled the F27 Pro+ 5G smartphone, which is scheduled to launch in India on June 13, in an effort to bring to market a smartphone that can be used throughout the monsoon season without much concern. With its MIL-STD-810H method 516.8 certification for its rugged design and Swiss SGS 5 stars drop resistance, OPPO is referring to this as India’s first “super-rugged, monsoon-ready smartphone.” The smartphone’s IP69 classification for ingress protection against dust and water, however, is its standout feature.
OPPO, the F27 Pro Plus will have a USB connector, speaker apertures, a SIM card slot pinhole, and a waterproof microphone. As per OPPO, a silicone ring secures the USB device, and the earpiece speaker and microphone apertures are coated with a film that lets sound through but prevents water from getting inside. According to OPPO, the gadget has a brand-new waterproof circuit design. Furthermore, the F27 Pro Plus’s display is said by OPPO to function even when hands are wet.
OPPO explained that the F27 Pro Plus weights 177g and has a thickness of 7.89mm despite its robust construction.
Additionally, the phone’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The F27 Pro, according to OPPO, possesses three ingress protection (IP) certifications:
IP66 for defence against dust and continuous sprays of water
IP68 for 30 minutes of dust and water immersion protection up to 1.5 metres
IP69 for defence against high-pressure water jets and dust at temperatures as high as 80 degrees Celsius
The smartphone will be available with a 3D Curved AMOLED display and a leather back. The smartphone’s leather back is coated with siloxane to make it stain-resistant so that it may be used without a case. The motherboard’s front cover is made of the extremely durable AM03 aluminium alloy. Additionally, according to OPPO, the smartphone has undergone numerous internal durability tests and features a 360-degree armoured body that is impervious to injury.
