Precisely 50 years prior today, heads of the six Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Ajman met up in Dubai to shape the world’s first Arab organization. The seventh emirate—Ras Al Khaimah—joined the coalition three months after the fact in 1972, authoritatively setting up the cutting edge United Arab Emirates.
