Google Chrome Can Now Read Online Pages Aloud In Twelve Different Languages

For the past few months, Google Chrome for Android has been developing Text to Speech (TTS), a feature that uses generative AI and an API to turn text into speech that sounds natural. Google is now releasing a feature called “Listen to this page” that allows users of the Google Chrome app to read a webpage in its entirety.

This feature is now accessible on Chrome for Android version 125, according to 9to5Google, and should be made available to all stable users in the upcoming weeks. Users must hit the three dots menu located directly below the Translate option on the Chrome Android app in order to access the “Listen to this page” option.

You can use this tool to listen to the full page, and there are more media settings accessible. The media player also has additional features including play, pause, fast forward up to 4 times, skip or rewind 10 seconds, and voice selection. Currently, Ruby (mid-pitch, warm), River (mid-pitch, brilliant), Field (low-pitch, bright), and Moss (low-pitch, serene) are the four speech patterns that Google offers.

Google offers support for four distinct accents when speaking English: American, Indian, Australian, and United Kingdom. Other regional and international languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish, are also supported by the new feature.
