Relations between Japan and Australia: “I and Anthony signed a new joint declaration on security cooperation as one of the biggest achievements of this visit,” said Japan PM Fumio Kishida.
Given their close cooperation in security, energy, and natural resources, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida declared on Saturday that they both believed relations between the two U.S. allies had reached a new level.
At a news conference in Perth, Kishida said, “As one of the biggest achievements of this visit, I and Anthony signed a new joint declaration on security cooperation.”
“That will be a compass that points the way for the next ten years of bilateral security and defence cooperation.” (Kiyoshi Takenaka reported; William Mallard edited)
