According to a media release, Vi has installed the 900MHz band at over 950 sites throughout 14 districts in Kerala. Additionally, the telecom is refarming 4G to improve LTE 2100 from 5MHz to 10MHz at over 2,500 sites.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has refarmed and enhanced its existing spectrum portfolio to deliver an improved network experience and quicker speeds for digital services. This has allowed it to upgrade its 4G network in four circles: Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, and Haryana. Vi has shut down its 3G network in Kerala and Punjab out of the four circles.

According to a statement from Vi, “this network upgrade reiterates Vi’s commitment to empower customers in a digital-first world by catalyzing the journey towards becoming a digital native.”

According to a media release, Vi has installed the 900MHz band at over 950 sites throughout 14 districts in Kerala. Additionally, the telecom is refarming 4G to improve LTE 2100 from 5MHz to 10MHz at over 2,500 sites.

Vi has increased LTE 2500’s 10MHz to 20MHz spectrum bandwidth over more than 1,200 places in Punjab. It is also refarming 4G to improve LTE 2100’s 5MHz to 10MHz and LTE 1800’s 10MHz to 15MHz.

Vi has increased the LTE 2100 spectrum bandwidth in Karnataka from 5MHz to 10MHz at more than 1,000 stations.

Vi increased the LTE 900 spectrum bandwidth in Haryana from 5MHz to 10MHz.
