With the release of Final Cut Pro for iPad 2, Apple has made the iPad an even more potent production studio. Additionally, Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 has significant organisational upgrades that are driven by artificial intelligence and improve productivity.

With the blazingly quick M4 chip, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 unlocks the incredible potential of the new iPad Pro, allowing for up to 4x more ProRes RAW streams and up to 2x quicker rendering than with M1. Users can wirelessly connect and simultaneously preview up to four cameras in one location with the brand-new Live Multicam capability. With the brand-new pro app Final Cut Camera, users will be able to manually adjust their preferences and have a director’s perspective of every camera utilising a mix of iPhone and iPad devices. Operating on iPhone and iPad, Final Cut Camera drives Live Multicam and functions as a stand-alone recording software with customisable settings for manual focus, shutter speed, ISO, and other parameters.1.

A much-requested addition, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 now supports external projects, giving users more storage freedom when working with large files.2 Without using up internal storage space, users can start new projects or open an old one. The new Apple Pencil Pro is also supported by Final Cut Pro for iPad 2, which uses squeeze and barrel roll to bring up brushes and settings fast and precisely, respectively, while using Live Drawing tools.

Users can advance their professional workflow with Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8. Using the Apple silicon’s Neural Engine, new AI features are added to Final Cut Pro. Improve Colour and Lightness, and Even Out Slo-Mo. While Smooth Slo-Mo skillfully mixes video frames for the best possible movement, Enhance Light and Colour automatically corrects footage for colour. Additionally, new tools for organisation enhance post-production workflow efficiency. These tools include the ability to search and navigate to clips in the timeline index that lack media or effects, as well as text-based timeline search with reel, scene, camera angle, and other information. Custom names for colour corrections and video effects are also included in the inspector.

Users who already have Final Cut Pro can now download the free updates for Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.84 and iPad 23. Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 is available on the Mac App Store for $299.99 (U.S.), while Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is available on the App Store for $4.99 (U.S.) a month or $49 (U.S.) per year for new customers.
