Apple Releases Smart Inbox Features to Help You Simplify Mail

Emails such as newsletters, social networking updates, and receipts can clog inboxes and make it hard to locate crucial communications from actual contacts, even while they aren’t necessarily spam.
Apple Mail Gets a Smart Inbox in MacOS 15.4
Apple unveiled a tool for the Mac this week that automatically groups messages into intelligent categories in an effort to help reduce inbox clutter. A few months after Apple first introduced the functionality on the iPhone in iOS 18.2, it is now available in the Mail app on macOS 15.4.
How to use it?
The new Mail categories features are now accessible on all Macs, iPhones, and iPads running the most recent OS systems as of this week. This refers to iOS 18.2, macOS 15.4, and iPadOS 18.2 and higher.
Primary:
This category is indicated by a blue banner and shows you any communications that contain time-sensitive information (such as a notice of a flight change) as well as personal messages.
Transactions:
Denoted by a green banner, emails in this category show confirmations, shipment notifications, and receipts, including those from Amazon.
Updates:
This category, which is denoted by a purple banner, includes all of your emails, roundup digests from social media, and more.
Promotions:
This category, denoted by a pink banner, includes emails pertaining to advertisements, like one from Target alerting you to an impending offer.
All Mail:
All of the emails in your inbox, including those from the aforementioned categories, are shown in chronological order in this category, which is indicated by a black banner.
All of the emails that fall into a particular category will be seen in your inbox as soon as you click or tap on any of the banners. By doing this, you can avoid having to search through your emails and save time finding the one you’re looking for.
