On Friday, actor Sobhita Dhulipala unveiled a collection of enchanting photos from her engagement to Naga Chaitanya, accompanied by a poetic caption that beautifully captured the essence of their bond. Recently, new images from the August 8th event have emerged, showcasing the couple celebrating with their families in a warm and intimate setting.
The engagement ceremony, held in Hyderabad, was a private affair, attended only by the couple’s close family and a few friends. Chaitanya donned a stylish white kurta-pyjama ensemble, complete with a matching dupatta, while Sobhita looked radiant in a peach-colored traditional outfit, her hair elegantly styled in a bun adorned with flowers. One of the photos shared online captures the couple smiling as they pose with Sobhita’s parents. Another touching image features Chaitanya with his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, stepmother Amala Akkineni, and brother Akhil Akkineni, all gathered to mark the special occasion.
Earlier in the week, veteran actor Nagarjuna took to X (formerly Twitter) to share moments from the engagement, expressing his delight: “We are overjoyed to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! We are thrilled to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless!”
Following Nagarjuna’s post, the couple shared their own set of photos on Instagram, giving their followers a glimpse into their joyous day. In one image, they are seen sitting together on a swing, exuding happiness. Another photo shows Sobhita holding Chaitanya’s hand as she sits on the swing, and additional pictures capture the couple laughing together. The images were accompanied by a caption featuring verses from the Tamil poetic anthology Kurunthogai, translated by A.K. Ramanujan, which beautifully encapsulated their love: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting.”
Previously, Naga Chaitanya was married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The pair announced their separation in October 2021 through a joint statement on social media, requesting privacy and acknowledging that they would always share a special bond.
