HP has entered the smart monitor arena with the launch of the Omen 32x, a gaming monitor that doubles as a streaming device powered by Google TV. Announced at CES 2025, the Omen 32x is set to ship this April at a price of $749.99.

The HP Omen 32x Smart Gaming Monitor boasts a 31.5-inch 4K IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, peak brightness of 400 nits, and support for DisplayHDR 400 with Dolby Vision. It covers 95% of the Display P3 and 99% of the sRGB color gamuts, ensuring vibrant and accurate visuals. The monitor supports both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium for smooth gameplay. Connectivity options include one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a 65W USB-C Power Delivery port with DisplayPort alt mode, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, an ethernet port, and four integrated 3W speakers.

While the hardware specs align with other gaming monitors in its class, it’s the integration of Google TV that sets the Omen 32x apart. This feature mirrors the experience of Chromecast or Google TV-enabled devices, offering personalized recommendations based on viewing history. Google Assistant voice commands can be used to search across its extensive library of apps, and users can cast content directly from supported mobile apps. Unlike other smart monitors from LG and Samsung, which focus more on productivity, the Omen 32x is tailored for gaming and entertainment.

The monitor also introduces unique features like the ability to natively stream gameplay to up to four platforms simultaneously, including Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram, without additional hardware. Users can stream content from two webcams along with their screen. It also supports mirroring Android smartphones in desktop mode and includes wireless KVM functionality, allowing control of multiple devices with one keyboard and mouse.

In addition to the Omen 32x, HP is updating its G2 monitor lineup for 2025. Highlights include the $479.99 Omen 34c G2, a 34-inch WQHD curved ultrawide display, and three new 27-inch options: the Omen 27 G2, 27q G2, and 27qs G2, priced at $249.99, $299.99, and $449.99, respectively. These models feature improved refresh rates, factory color calibration, and the debut of IPS Black technology in the 27qs G2, which offers enhanced contrast and color accuracy alongside a groundbreaking 280Hz refresh rate.
