Beyond being limited to the Watch 6, Samsung’s One UI Watch 6 beta is now available for the Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 series.
A few modifications to health tracking and multiple additional features are included in the UI Watch 6 beta. The inclusion of Galaxy AI to sleep insights is one of the primary changes, enabling users to get a more comprehensive view of their activities during the night. The option to use a pinch gesture to pick items on the screen outside of the occasionally constrictive accessibility mode is another modification.
It appears that Samsung is now expanding the availability of the Watch 6 by enabling owners of the Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 to test out the new One UI Watch 6 software version in the US. With a few of specific “special edition” models, the One UI Watch 6 beta will be accessible for some Watch 5 and 4 models.
A significant problem with the One UI Watch 6 beta release for the Galaxy Watch 6 was that it was only compatible with Bluetooth models-LTE versions were not included. It is stated on the updated page of the Samsung Members app that this restriction is still in effect. The LTE versions of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 will not be compatible. The reason for this is not explained on the page.
Customers can use the Samsung members app to locate the One UI Watch 6 beta. A card promoting the beta will appear at the top of the app. To join for your watch model, just tap it. Your Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Wearable app will thereafter receive an update.
This occurs just before Samsung Unpacked in Paris, where the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 7 Ultra variants will be unveiled. One UI Watch 6, which is based on Wear OS, will work with the Galaxy Watch 7 straight out of the box.
Those who register for the free promotion from Samsung can reserve a $50 credit to apply toward the new devices. Registering can awards you to a $5,000 prize. Enrolling in a $50 credit is well worth it if you want to trade in your Galaxy Watch for a Watch 7.
