JSW MG Motor India has reached a significant milestone with its all-electric MG Windsor, as the model has crossed the 20,000-unit sales mark within just six months of its debut. An important turning point in India’s EV journey has been reached with this accomplishment, making the Windsor the country’s fastest electric vehicle to reach this sales milestone.
The success of the MG Windsor isn’t confined to major urban hubs—it has seen widespread demand in both metro cities and rising markets, indicating a growing nationwide acceptance of electric mobility. Rakesh Sen, Director of Sales & Marketing at JSW MG Motor India, shared his enthusiasm about the model’s performance, stating that the Windsor has resonated strongly with Indian consumers due to its futuristic styling, user-friendly technology, roomy interiors, and eco-conscious yet cost-effective drive. He also noted that the model has played a vital role in dismantling long-held apprehensions around electric vehicles in India, helping new buyers embrace the shift to electric mobility.
As the first Intelligent CUV in India, the MG Windsor has raised the bar by combining the versatility of an SUV with the luxury and ride comfort of a sedan. Its introduction of a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing option—starting at ₹9.99 lakh with a pay-per-use battery cost of ₹3.9 per kilometer—has helped redefine value in the electric vehicle space. The Windsor is powered by a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of generating 100 kW (136 PS) and 200 Nm of torque, while offering a certified driving range of 332 kilometers on a full charge.
The car’s striking AeroGlide design and thoughtfully designed cabin, featuring 135-degree reclinable Aero Lounge seats and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen for seamless control, add to its premium appeal. The rapid success of the MG Windsor has positioned it not only as a game-changer in the segment but also as a driving force behind the accelerating electric vehicle adoption in India.
