Mary Ann Shadd was conceived on this day in 1823 in Wilmington, Delaware. Her folks were committed abolitionists and utilized their home as a station on the Underground Railroad to give a place of refuge to got away from slaves. Following her graduation from a Pennsylvania all inclusive school, she turned into an educator.
