Brooklyn Nets forward/center Kenneth Faried has consented to an agreement buyout, clearing the way for him to sign a free-agent deal the Houston Rockets, group sources told ESPN.
The Rockets plan to promptly embed Faried into the lineup as a stopgap huge man to help supplant a portion of the protection and bouncing back lost with beginning focus Clint Capela, who is required to be out half a month following surgery on his right thumb.
Faried will be discharged Saturday, sources stated, with his $13.7 million salary expected to clear waivers on Monday.
The Rockets are forcefully attempting to discover a trade for the banished Carmelo Anthony before Monday’s 5 p.m. ET deadline to clear a program spot for Faried, league sources said. The Rockets should trade a player to a group with an open program spot, or defer a player, before marking Faried.
