On this day in 1848, progressive writer Sandor Petőfi remained on the stairs of the Hungarian National Museum, recounting Nemzeti dal and proclaiming a rundown of requests for majority rule rights, presently known as the 12 Points of the Pest Revolution, before a developing horde of understudy protestors.
