With the introduction of the E Concept sportback and the debut of AUDI, Audi’s China brother, it’s a double release for the German automaker. For the former, the cabin of the electric car features a glass roof and a curved 4K touch screen that runs from pillar to pillar. For the latter, the automaker presents AUDI, the sister brand of Audi, which is an extension of the Chinese market-focused brand and is written in four capital letters instead of the four circles that are part of the emblem.
Audi without four rings goes fully electric with first car
The China-tailored manufacturer created the E Concept sportback automobile for their maiden venture, which was launched in collaboration with SAIC and nevertheless maintains the Audi design DNA. This car, which was co-developed by German and Chinese experts, serves as a preview of the three AUDI production models that will be released in the middle of 2025.
The AUDI E Concept is now marketed as a sportback vehicle that is entirely electric and has driver aid features unique to China. The façade is simple right away, including wrap-around lighting designs at both ends and smooth round wheel arches. A flat, stretched roofline in its profile draws attention to the glass roof, and this design feature also gives the impression that the car’s interior is roomy.
illuminated wood and microfiber for the doors
The lighting, sensors, and aerodynamic components are grouped in a single centre section, bordered by a black loop, in the AUDI E Concept’s front and rear design. It’s important to remember that the design teams ensure that the technologies onboard are up-to-date and constantly connected because the designs are created for Chinese clients.
It begins with a 4K touch panel that is curved from pillar to pillar and projected driving information. Digital external mirrors are integrated into this large screen. Two cellphones may be stored openly in the centre console, and the doors include microfiber and lighted wood in a 3D lamella design that draws inspiration from contemporary architecture.
Speaking of modern technology, facial recognition is another way to access the infotainment and apps. In the middle of the interior, AUDI’s design teams also included an AI avatar that acts as the driver’s personal assistant. The system can be triggered by voice or touch commands, and it can be “emotionally” attached to the driver through its voice and language, giving the impression that they are speaking to a real person. The AUDI E Concept controls are located on a touch-sensitive bar on the centre console, beneath the AI Assistant. This is an illustration of how Audi has integrated digital and touch controls into the sportback vehicle.
The vehicle’s specifications include two electric motors on the front and rear axels that produce 570 kW and 800 Nm of power, respectively. When combined with the renowned Audi Quattro four-wheel drive, this allows for a 3.6-second 0-100 km/h acceleration. The E Concept car can go 700 kilometres on a 100-kWh battery. It is also capable of quick charging, allowing it to reach a range of almost 370 kilometres after just 10 minutes of charging. The Chinese market is the focus of the AUDI E Concept sportback, which might be on sale in the middle of 2025.
