Skoda, known for its popular models like the Kushaq and Slavia, is preparing to expand its lineup with the Kylaq, the third car based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. With its global debut approaching, Skoda has teased the Kylaq, offering a sneak peek of its design and features. A recently released TVC teaser on social media introduces Kylaq alongside Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty, with Skoda promising an action-packed reveal on November 6 at 12:30 pm via Jio Cinema.

The Kylaq displays Skoda’s signature slatted grille, sleek LED headlamps, and distinctive top-mounted LED DRLs. A single-pane sunroof, likely to be voice-activated, is another prominent feature. The SUV’s side profile shows sporty alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, and a slightly tapered rear roof, with roof rails in a black finish and a shark-fin antenna completing the design. The rear boasts edgy tail lamps, along with prominent SKODA branding.

Inside, Kylaq is expected to share various elements with the Kushaq, potentially including a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and front and rear Type-C USB ports. Higher trims will likely feature a digital instrument cluster, while base models have been spotted with an analog speedometer. MySkoda Connect suite should be present in top variants, enabling an array of connected car features.

Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which earned both the Kushaq and Slavia a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, Kylaq is anticipated to receive similar marks. With this platform’s proven safety, Kylaq will join the ranks of highly-rated sub-4m SUVs like Tata Nexon, Tata Punch, and XUV300, while also taking on competitors like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. Kylaq’s safety features are expected to surpass 25, with traction control, stability control, six airbags, electronic brake distribution, anti-lock brakes, rollover protection, electronic differential lock, motor slip regulation, multi-collision braking, and passenger airbag deactivation likely to be standard.

Under the hood, the Kylaq will feature a 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine, already available on the Kushaq, delivering 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, with the Kylaq being offered in a front-wheel-drive format.
