In May of this year, BMW made its world debut with the high-performance M4 CS, and now it is available in India. With a price tag of Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom), the M4 CS is imported in its whole into India. This is the first BMW ‘CS’ model to be introduced in India. Arriving months after the revised M4 Competition debuts, the M4 CS will occupy the top spot in the M4 lineup.

The M4 CS has a number of improvements focused on performance as opposed to the M4 Competition. These include of weight loss, improved aerodynamics, and increased power production. With the same torque of 650 Nm, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six petrol engine now produces 543 horsepower, which is around 20 bhp more than the Competition variant. According to BMW, these improvements allow for a 3.4-second sprint from 0 to 100 kmph, which is 0.1 seconds quicker than the M4 Competition.

The M4 CS stands out from the crowd in terms of style thanks to its muscular front splitter, redesigned rear diffuser, frameless kidney grille with red surround, and yellow LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamps. Standard forged alloy wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 20 inches down back are fitted to it. By using a lot of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the diffuser, cabin, splitter, and bonnet, the car weighs 20 kg less than the M4 Competition. A gurney-style spoiler and a titanium exhaust system with four tailpipes are featured on the back.

A variety of metallic exterior colours, such as Black Sapphire and Brooklyn Grey, are offered for the M4 CS in addition to traditional hues such Frozen Isle of Man Green and Riviera Blue. The interior of the cabin uses a lot of CFRP and has Merino anthracite leather lining. Standard features include the M Carbon bucket seats and the M Alcantara steering wheel. M-specific data is shown on the curved display, which is inclined in the direction of the driver.

Six airbags, dynamic stability control (DSC), M Dynamic mode (MDM), cornering brake control (CBC), dynamic brake control (DBC), a dry braking function, Active M Differential, and DSC combined with M xDrive are among the safety features of the M4 CS.

A firmer suspension system, which includes reinforced anti-roll bars to enhance body control, is advantageous for the CS. In order to allow for “drifting,” drivers can totally remove the stability control system and select a 2WD mode that only applies power to the rear wheels.
