Apple is preparing to roll out Apple Intelligence this month, bringing an array of AI-driven features to iPhones with the iOS 18.1 update. However, users in India who own eligible iPhones might encounter delays in accessing some of these new tools, particularly those tied to localized Indian language support, which is expected to be introduced only next year.
Apple Intelligence is set to be a major highlight of the iOS 18 operating system. Initially, it will be available exclusively to users of the latest iPhone 16 models and last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max devices. Despite the excitement generated at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier this year, not all features will be available right away. The launch of Apple Intelligence will follow a phased approach, with the first batch of features arriving with iOS 18.1, and additional AI-driven functionalities expected in subsequent updates.
While Indian users with supported iPhones will get access to some of the AI-powered tools, all features will be limited to US English at first. Apple has confirmed that support for other languages, including those specific to India, will be added in future updates. This delay in local language integration means Indian iPhone users may not experience the full range of Apple Intelligence’s capabilities until next year.
India has seen similar delays in the past when it comes to iOS features. For example, the Live Voicemail Transcription feature, which launched globally with iOS 17, was not available in India until the iOS 18 release. Although Apple is aiming for a quicker rollout with Apple Intelligence, it’s possible that certain features might take longer to reach Indian users.
Apple Intelligence is designed to significantly elevate the user experience by providing more personalized and efficient tools. However, due to the delay in localized language support, Indian users may have to wait a bit longer to fully benefit from these AI advancements. Even so, the initial rollout of iOS 18.1 will still bring a set of powerful new features to enhance everyday tasks, and more advanced capabilities will follow as Apple continues to expand its AI offerings globally.
