Dyson has ventured into the audio market with the launch of its first high-fidelity headphones, the Dyson OnTrac. The Singaporean company, traditionally known for its household appliances, is expanding its product line to include premium audio devices, offering a unique customization feature with interchangeable caps and cushions to enhance the user experience.

Chief Engineer Jake Dyson commented on the launch, saying, “With over three decades of expertise in aeroacoustics, we have mastered the physics of sound. By reducing noise through our in-house anechoic chambers and utilizing our skilled engineers, we’ve expanded our audio knowledge to create the Dyson OnTrac headphones.”

The Dyson OnTrac headphones are equipped with advanced Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology. This technology uses custom algorithms and an array of eight microphones to sample external sounds at an impressive rate of 384,000 times per second. This sophisticated system allows the headphones to achieve noise cancellation levels of up to 40dB. Furthermore, the headphones feature 40mm, 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers, which deliver a wide frequency range from 6Hz to 21,000Hz, ensuring high-quality audio performance.

When it comes to battery life, Dyson asserts that the OnTrac headphones are powered by two lithium-ion batteries, which provide up to 55 hours of playtime on a single charge with ANC enabled. This extensive battery life is a significant advantage for users who require long-lasting performance. Additionally, the headphones can connect to smartphones via the MyDyson app. This app offers several innovative features, such as real-time soundtracking, which monitors both in-ear and external volume levels. The app also includes three custom EQ modes-Bass Boost, Neutral, and Enhanced-allowing users to tailor the sound to their preferences.

The Dyson OnTrac headphones are set to be available soon in India, offered in four distinct color options: CNC Aluminium, CNC Copper, CNC Nickel, and Ceramic Cinnabar. In addition to these color choices, the headphones will offer over 2,000 customizable color combinations for outer caps and ear cushions, providing a highly personalized experience for users. This level of customization is designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes and preferences, setting the Dyson OnTrac apart in the crowded headphone market.

In summary, Dyson’s entry into the audio market with the OnTrac headphones demonstrates the company’s commitment to applying its engineering expertise to new areas. With features like advanced ANC technology, extended battery life, and extensive customization options, the Dyson OnTrac headphones are poised to make a significant impact in the high-fidelity audio space.
