Even while SUV sales are on the rise in India, hatchbacks continue to have a shaky market share, in part because to their competitive pricing. Since the majority of us were born, the Maruti Suzuki Alto has existed. The brand recently unveiled the brand-new Alto K10, which was dropped a few years back. What new features does the Alto K10 bring to the market? This is our opinion of the all-new Alto K10 after touring Kerala in it.
seems like a Japanese Kei car!
The brand-new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 definitely resembles a Kei vehicle. The hatchback receives the new HEARTECT platform, which increases its size. The brand-new Alto K10 features a redesigned design in addition to little growth in dimensions. The new vehicle has a clamshell-style bonnet and a significantly larger grille than the outgoing model. You might be able to make out remnants of the former A-front Star’s end.
The car has a fresh aspect thanks to the sharp creases in the bumper, which is also new. The bumper does not have a place for fog lamps. However, the headlamps have been modified and are now larger.
larger cabin
The expanded cabin space brought about by the increased dimensions was a much-needed demand for a refresh, and Maruti delivered in this case. There is a 251-liter boot that has room for two overnighters. The back seats are roomy and offer plenty of comfort. The headrests, however, are fixed. The fixed headrests don’t offer enough whiplash defence. The third passenger will not be comfortable due to the transmission tunnel, but there is plenty of room for two.
The back passengers don’t have a lot of storage space. A bottle holder is located in the centre and there are a few small pockets on the entry. The bottles, however, cannot be stored in the seat or door pockets. The back passengers will also have to operate the old-fashioned lever system to open the windows. Power windows are not an option, not even with the top-end trim.
Should you buy?
The Alto K10 has been a popular choice among first time car buyers and the new one will continue to attract a lot of new customers. It is a practical car and with a price between Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 5.83 lakh, ex-showroom, the Alto K10 offers a good value for money.
